Mike Montgomery Suffers A Tough Loss Wednesday
6 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Mike Montgomery turned in another strong performance Wednesday versus the Brewers. Montgomery went six innings in which he allowed two hits, one run, one walk and struck out four. Montgomery has done an excellent job replacing Yu Darvish (triceps) in the rotation. Over his last four starts, Montgomery has thrown 23 2/3 innings with a 1.14 ERA and has allowed one or fewer runs in all four games. With Tyler Chatwood struggling, Montgomery has a chance to stick in the rotation even when Darvish returns. Montgomery is worth a look in NL-only leagues and deeper mixed leagues.
