Mike Foltynewicz Back Earlier Than Expected?
6 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz (elbow) "felt good" after throwing 63 pitches Friday in a rehab start and will throw 80 pitches this Thursday. The Braves may not require him to throw another rehab game if all goes well after Thursday's contest, which would bring him back sooner to the rotation than expected. Foltynewicz was placed on the injured list with elbow soreness and missed most of spring training with the issue. The 27-year-old right-hander is looking to keep his momentum from his 2018 breakout when he struck out 202 batters in 183 innings. It's good news for fantasy owners that his recovery is ahead of schedule.
