6 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Foltynewicz (elbow) and relief pitcher A.J. Minter (shoulder) will both make rehab outings on April 4 with Triple-A Gwinnett in their season opener. Folty will start in a minor league game on Friday and throw roughly 50 pitches. He's expected to throw around 65-70 pitches for Gwinnett on April 4 and would likely need one more rehab start before joining Atlanta's rotation in mid-April. Foltynewicz broke out in 2018, but don't be so quick to think he'll return similar value this year, especially starting out the year on the wrong foot. Minter will play second fiddle to Arodys Vizcaino in the closer role when he returns.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
