Mike Evans, Chris Godwin Won't Play Friday
1 year agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin aren't expected to play in Friday night's preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Along with the team's top two receivers, starting running back Rachaad White also isn't expected to suit up. With both Evans and Godwin watching from the sideline, Russell Gage, Trey Palmer, Deven Thompkins and David Moore will see more action as they look to impress the coaching staff. It remains to be seen if Evans or Godwin will play in the second preseason contest on Aug. 19 against the New York Jets. Both Evans and Godwin have seen their fantasy stock fall dramatically in 2023 just because of Tom Brady's retirement. They'll both have lower floors and ceilings with either Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask throwing them passes.
