Mike Evans, Chris Godwin Could End Up In Trade Discussions
1 year agoESPN's Dan Graziano says not to be surprised if one or both of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin end up in the trade mix at this year's deadline at the end of October. The demand for receivers will continue as the season goes on and as injuries set in. With Tom Brady retiring, the Bucs are in rebuild mode and are carrying almost $77 million in dead salary cap money this year. Moving Evans or Godwin to a contending team at the deadline would help them dump as much of this year's cap hit so that they can resume acquiring players in 2024. Evans is more realistic, as he's making only $13 million this year and will be a free agent in 2024, while Godwin has a non-guaranteed $20 million due next year. With Brady gone, both Evans' and Godwin's fantasy value has dropped significantly.
