Mike Davis Set For Lead-Back Role In Atlanta
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis is set for a feature-back role in 2021 after signing a two-year, $5.5 million deal with the club this offseason. Davis entered the 2020 campaign as a backup for the Carolina Panthers, but he ended up compiling a career-high 224 touches due to injuries to Christian McCaffrey. The 28-year-old was one of nine running backs to rack up at least 600 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards in 2020, and all nine finished as RB2s or better, with Davis netting an RB18 finish. While new head coach Arthur Smith could opt for a committee approach to the backfield, Davis should still be expected to see the majority of touches given the limited options behind him, meaning fantasy managers should look at him as an RB2 heading into the 2021 campaign, particularly in PPR formats.
