Mike Davis Salvages Day With Touchdown Run
4 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Mike Davis carried the ball 18 times for 52 yards and a score while hauling in two receptions for just three receiving yards. Davis came out of the gate running well, with eight carries for 40 yards, but it was tough sledding the rest of the way, as the Chicago defense contained him to 12 yards on 10 carries. The veteran back managed to somewhat salvage his fantasy day with a one-yard score, but it was mostly disappointing for his fantasy managers. A tougher matchup in Week 7 awaits, but the volume Davis is seeing should keep him in the RB1 discussion, as long as Christian McCaffrey (ankle) is sidelined.
