Mike Davis A Volume-Based RB2 In Week 1
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis will take on the Eagles in his first start with his new club in Week 1. Davis made a name for himself in fantasy circles last season for the Panthers, totaling 1,015 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns on 224 touches as the starter sans Christian McCaffrey, good for an RB12 finish. The South Carolina product will be competing for touches with recent addition Wayne Gallman, though the former projects to lead the backfield against an Eagles defense that ranked 23rd in rushing yards allowed per game last season. Philadelphia's defensive line possesses some able run-stoppers, but Davis should see enough volume to post low-end RB2 numbers. He could see an added boost in PPR formats for his pass-catching work, particularly if the Falcons are forced to play from behind.
