Mike Clevinger Solid In No-Decision
4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger allowed two runs off of four hits throughout seven innings to take a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday. He also struck out six and did not issue a walk. His season got off to a rough start, with Jorge Soler and Salvador Perez hitting back-to-back homers off of him in the first inning. Clevinger calmed down nicely after that, and he was able to get through seven innings on only 90 pitches, allowing just two hits the rest of the way. The right-hander now lines up for three consecutive roads starts (Minnesota, Cincinnati, and Chicago White Sox). The delayed start to the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic has helped him as he wasn't going to be ready for the start of the season otherwise. He's RotoBaller's No. 13 ranked starting pitcher, but Clevinger has all the makings of a fantasy ace going forward. He's a must-start every time he takes the mound.
