Mike Clevinger Named to the Starting Rotation
7 years agoCleveland Indians manager Terry Francona named right-handed pitcher Mike Clevinger as a member of the starting rotation. Clevinger was excellent in 2017, but was still on the outside looking in for the Tribe's rotation heading into Spring Training. With the news that Danny Salazar will be starting the season on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, Clevinger will fill up his spot in the rotation. Clevinger posted a 3.11 ERA with 137 strikeouts over 121 2/3 innings for Cleveland in 2017. He'll be a decent fantasy option if he can stick in the rotation, but he'll have to perform well to do so.
