Mike Boone Is An Upside RB2 In Week 16
Mike Boone has a great chance to be one of those random, out-of-nowhere fantasy superstars that make the difference in fantasy championships this season. Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) didn't practice all week and aren't likely to play, while Boone excelled with 13 carries for 56 yards and two touchdowns in Week 15's blowout win. Boone, an undrafted second-year back out of Cincinnati, could be looking at tallying 15-20 touches against a Packers Defense that allows 4.76 yards per carry and is ranked 25th in rush DVOA. They also rank 25th in fantasy points per game allowed to the running back position. Start Boone as an upside RB2 who should get enough volume for him to threaten sliding into the top-10, as long as Cook and Mattison are ruled out.

Mike Boone Not A Good Fantasy Option In Week 18
Mike Boone rushed for 11 yards on two carries during Sunday's 48-14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17. The Panthers signed Boone to their active roster last Saturday after Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) was placed on injured reserve. The Panthers fell behind early in Week 17 and never had much of a chance to establish the ground game. Boone was also out-touched by fellow teammate Raheem Blackshear eight to two. This week, the Panthers travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons, who have allowed the 10th fewest points to opposing running backs on the season. Boone is not a good fantasy option in Week 18, and fantasy managers should look elsewhere for production at the running back position. Boone comes in as RB51 in the latest RotoBaller running back rankings for Week 18.

Mike Boone Gets Just Two Carries In Week 17 Loss
Mike Boone rushed for 11 yards on two carries during Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was also targeted twice in the passing game but was not able to catch a pass. Boone was promoted to the No. 2 running back role after Carolina placed Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) on injured reserve, but it didn't have much bearing on the 29-year-old's fantasy football contributions. He operated behind Raheem Blackshear, who was also relatively unproductive with just eight carries and 20 rushing yards. It's possible that Blackshear and Boone earn increased carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18, but it's too risky to trust either player in fantasy football going forward.

Mike Boone Headed For Bigger Role To Close Out The Season
Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Saturday, meaning both Mike Boone and Raheem Blackshear will be splitting the backfield work for the final two games of the season. Boone is currently on the team's practice squad, but he'll surely be promoted to the active 53-man roster before Sunday's contest against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17. The 29-year-old Boone has only seen seven carries for 22 yards in the four games he's been active with Carolina this year. While he's now going to see much more run the final two weeks, desperate fantasy managers shouldn't expect much out of him the close things out, especially with the Panthers facing a Buccaneers defense this weekend that has allowed the fewest half-PPR points to RBs in the last five weeks.

Panthers Elevate Mike Boone Ahead Of Week 15
Mike Boone has been elevated to the team's active roster ahead of their Sunday meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. The 29-year-old has appeared in just one game this season -- the first -- registering four carries and seven yards. The move seemingly comes in response to fellow RB Raheem Blackshear (chest) being downgraded to out for Week 15, as he was the only other active back on the roster besides starter Chuba Hubbard. The Cowboys' defense has come around over the previous few weeks but could be without a few of their defenders this Sunday due to injury. Still, with Hubbard dominating the Panthers' snap share and backfield touches, Boone garners little more than handcuff status for the time being.
