5 years agoNew York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad tallied a short-handed goal and added a primary assist as his team captured a 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday afternoon. With the pair of points, Zibanejad continued his electrifying play as of late, extending his personal point streak to five games (five goals, five assists). Not only has the 26-year-old average two points-per-game over the span but he's also rifled 25 shots on goal. Checking in with 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists), seven power-play points, 73 shots and 25 hits through just 22 games, Zibanejad has evolved into a unquestionable top-50 fantasy asset. Make sure to get him back into lineups ahead of his next game versus the Flyers on Monday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

1 month agoNew York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad will start the 4 Nations Face-Off as Sweden's top-line center. He will be flanked by Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander and Rickard Rakell of the Pittsburgh Penguins in Wednesday's tournament opener against Canada. Zibanejad has had a down year with the Rangers in 2024-25, producing 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists) in 55 games, but he has gained momentum ahead of the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 31-year-old boasts two goals and eight points through five February outings. Zibanejad averaged over a point per game the last time he suited up for Sweden, finishing the team's 2018 World Championships gold medal-winning campaign with six goals and five assists in 10 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoNew York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad tallied two helpers during their 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday evening. Zibanejad tallied his first helper in the second frame on the primary assist on Artemi Panarin's 23rd goal of the season. Later in the third, Zibanejad would tally another primary assist, this time while shorthanded, to set up Chris Kreider for the game-winner. This performance extended Zibanejad's point streak to three games. During this stretch, he has tallied six points (one goal, five helpers) with 10 shots on goal and five blocks. Across 53 games, Zibanejad has only scored 10 goals and added 25 assists. Even though Zibanejad has had a down year, it appears he and the Rangers are beginning to turn the corner. He remains a solid play in DFS on Friday evening when they face the Pittsburgh Penguins.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad celebrated his 300th career goal in Wednesday's 3-2 road victory at Buffalo. He reached the plateau with a power-play marker in the first period. Zibanejad is the eighth Swedish player in NHL history to score at least 300 career goals. Six of his goals have come this season, along with 15 assists in 28 appearances. Zibanejad hasn't been at his best in 2024-25, but the same goes for the entire team. At least he's upped his scoring pace in recent games, averaging a point per game across his past six outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoNew York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad scored his first goal of the season and tallied two assists in their victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday evening. Zibanejad tallied his first point of the evening on the power-play on a shot that was re-directed by Chris Kreider in the second period. In the final frame, the center tallied the primary assist on Riley Smith's first goal as a New York Ranger. In the final minute, Zibanejad scored the empty-netter to complete a three-point evening. Fantasy managers should continue to view the 31-year-old as a solid center in all fantasy formats, given the top minutes he receives in every game and his role on one of the best power-play units in the sport.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
