Miguel Rojas Scratched With Hamstring Issue
3 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas (hamstring) was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Seattle Mariners at Dodger Stadium due to a hamstring flare-up, according to manager Dave Roberts. However, Rojas is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday for the series opener against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays after a scheduled day off on Thursday. Tommy Edman will start at the 6 on Wednesday and will face Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. Rojas brings very little power (three homers this year) to the table and is only really a fantasy option in NL-only leagues for middle-infield insurance, but he has hit a cool .283 (65-for-230) and gives the Dodgers the best defensive option at shortstop. The Venezuelan superior glove is the reason the Dodgers moved Mookie Betts back to the outfield after he returned from his fractured hand.
