Miguel Castro Locks Down First Save Of 2020
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-hander Miguel Castro worked the ninth inning of Saturday's win over the Nationals, picking up his first save of the season. While it’s unclear if Castro has permanently supplanted right-hander Cole Sulser, he has now compiled 10 strikeouts across 7 ⅓ scoreless innings out of relief this season. A stalwart of the Baltimore bullpen for the past three years, Castro appears to be unlocking his strikeout potential, with his sinker having averaged 98 MPH entering play Saturday and not yet having yielded a barrel. Season-long owners with their eye on saves will want to see how Baltimore’s bullpen plays out over the next few days with Castro as an option in all season-long formats so long as he does take over closer duties.
