Miguel Castro Available Out Of The 'Pen On Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Mets right-handed relief pitcher Miguel Castro (neck) is available out of the bullpen on Wednesday, according to manager Luis Rojas. Castro had been unavailable the past two games due to neck stiffness, which has now improved. The Mets bullpen has been taxed the past few games, so Castro's return should help preserve some arms, particularly Seth Lugo, who was called upon to pitch two innings on Tuesday against the Cubs. In 25 1/3 innings pitched so far in 2021, Castro has a 3.20 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, 33 strikeouts and 14 walks to go with elite whiff and strikeout rates. Castro should be on the radar of fantasy managers in leagues that reward holds, and he can also provide high strikeout totals while pitching in front of Trevor May, Edwin Diaz and Lugo.
