Miguel Cabrera Joins 3,000 Hit Club
3 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera became a member of the 3,000 hit club on Saturday. In his first at-bat against Colorado Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela, he hit a ground ball into right field and trotted to an easy single. Celebration ensued at Detroit's Comerica Park and play was on pause for several minutes. The 39-year-old became the first player to notch his 3,000th hit as a member of the Tigers since Al Kaline in 1974. He also became the seventh player in MLB history to rack up both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs.
