Miguel Andujar Working To Reduce Errors
6 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar focused on his pre-pitch setup at third base in the offseason with infield coach Carlos Mendoza and manager Aaron Boone in order to reduce the 15 errors he committed in his rookie season. "The plan on defense since the offseason has been to improve my ready position, improve my first step, improve my direction when you’re making a throw," Andujar said through an interpreter. He wasn't very great on defense but finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting and led all major league rookies in hit (170), doubles (47), extra-base hits (76) and multi-hit games (53) while tying for first in homers (27). Thankfully for fantasy owners, they won't have to worry about Andujar's defense, and he's already proven that he can get it done with the bat. In New York's excellent offense, Andujar is a top-15 fantasy third baseman.
