Miguel Andujar Takes Successful Swings
6 years agoWhile another player headed to the injured list, the New York Yankees received encouraging news from their young third baseman. Miguel Andujar, coming off making some successful throws on Wednesday, took some swings of the bat Friday and felt no discomfort. The 24-year-old said he was swinging at about 50 percent of his normal effort, but small steps like this can only be seen as positive. Andujar was diagnosed with a labrum tear to begin April and it had been feared season-ending surgery was his ultimate fate. For now, the Yankees and Andujar owners can look at this as a step forward.
