Miguel Andujar Nets Winning RBI With Sac Fly
6 years agoIn the 12th inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park, New York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded. It was the rookie’s 25th plate appearance with a man on third base and less than two outs this season. With a sacrifice fly that drove in the winning run, Andujar brought home his 18th runner in such instances this season. That’s good for a 72% success rate, whilst the major league average is 50%. This is just one of the numerous instances in which the Dominican native is thriving in his first season, now hitting .297 with 20 home runs and 66 RBI.
