7 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar provided a punch of offense on Monday, though ultimately it wasn't enough for his team to overcome the New York Mets in an 8-5 loss. In the bottom of the eighth inning with the Yankees trailing 7-3, Andujar hit a two-run bomb to put the Yankees within striking distance of the lead. That was the last time they would score though, as the Mets were able to seal the deal. Andujar was also one of the few Yankee hitters to not strike out against Mets ace Jacob deGrom, who finished with 12 Ks. Andujar is hitting .345 his last seven games, and though there have been some defensive headaches, his bat is as valuable in fantasy as they come. He's a front-runner for the American League Rookie of the Year and should be kept in all lineups going forward.--Mauricio Castillo

7 months agoThe Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Miguel Andujar (core) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 25) on Wednesday with a core-muscle injury and recalled infielder Nick Allen from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Infielder Abraham Toro, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Vegas. It's unclear if Andujar will be ready to return when he's eligible on Sept. 4. With the 29-year-old sidelined for a bit, Daz Cameron will likely be the primary beneficiary in Oakland's outfield for the time being. Andujar didn't make his 2024 debut until May 24 due to injury but has hit well since returning, slashing .285/.320/.377 with a .697 OPS in 302 at-bats. However, he doesn't have notable power (four homers) or speed (three steals), limiting his fantasy appeal on a bad A's squad.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

8 months agoOakland Athletics third baseman Miguel Andujar has been put together a quietly solid season so far. On Sunday, Andujar went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in what ended up being a loss for Oakland. The 29-year-old smacked a 377-foot home run off Carson Fulmer to give his team the lead. This season, Andujar is slashing .304/.327/.419 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 47 games. He could be a candidate to be moved at the trade deadline with the A's rebuilding their roster. However, a move elsewhere could still mean a part-time role which probably wouldn't help his fantasy value.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

10 months agoOakland A's outfielder Miguel Andujar had his third multi-hit game this week on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in an 11-9 win at the Atlanta Braves. Andujar hit a three-run blast off Braves hurler Chris Sale in the second inning and added a game-clinching RBI single in the eighth. He's been at a blistering .448/.433/.724 pace with 12 RBI in his first seven games with Oakland. He's unlikely to maintain the run but is worth consideration in AL-only or deeper fantasy leagues.--Brandon Williams - RotoBaller

10 months agoOakland Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar made his long-awaited season debut on Friday, going 3-for-4 with two RBI in a 6-3 loss to the Astros. Andujar is returning from a torn meniscus he suffered just prior to the beginning of the season. The 29-year-old had a strong showing in spring training, going 15-for-42 (.357) with five home runs and didn't strike out even one time. He also had a strong rehab stint where the right-handed hitter went 7-for-18 (.389) including four doubles and struck out just twice. If Andujar can find regular playing time and continue to hit, he could be a worthy waiver-add in fantasy, however, he's played no more than 45 games in a season since 2018. That season, the Dominican hit .297 with 27 home runs for the Yankees.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
