Mick Abel Finishing Season On High Note
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitching prospect Mick Abel threw five scoreless innings on Wednesday for Double-A Reading. The right-hander allowed three hits, one run, three walks and struck out eight in his performance. Abel has had his ups and downs throughout the season, but he is finishing the season strong with a 1.17 ERA over his last four starts that includes eight hits, three runs and 23 K's over 23 innings. Along with Andrew Painter, the Phillies have two of the more talented prospects on the mound and one or both could be making their big-league debut in 2024. Abel remains a roster hold in dynasty leagues and could even be a buy-low candidate with his rollercoaster of a season.
