3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Michael Wacha allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five across five innings during Friday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Braves. He did not factor into the decision. The 30-year-old cruised through the first three innings before serving up homers to Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson in the fourth frame. Wacha surrendered two more runs before exiting after 78 pitches. He owns a 5.14 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and an 8.1 K/9 across 61 1/3 innings in 2021. Wacha continues to be used as a traditional starter and could be in line for more wins for a contending Tampa Bay Rays team. The former St. Louis Cardinal is mainly an option in deep-league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
