Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen (upper body) will not travel with the team to Minnesota for their contest against the Wild on Tuesday evening. Rasmussen sustained this injury during their overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Rasmussen left the contest in the second frame after taking a hit. Before exiting, the 25-year-old logged just over eight minutes of ice time and held a -1 rating with two hits. Across 56 contests this season, Rasmussen has found the back of the net eight times and added seven helpers with 96 hits and 38 blocked shots. While the 25-year-old is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Sheldon Dries to draw into the starting lineup as he was promoted from Grand Rapids earlier on Monday.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen (upper body) might make a quick return to the lineup. He missed his first game of the season on Saturday versus Los Angeles, but Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde hopes to have him available again on Monday against San Jose. The same applies to defenseman Simon Edvinsson (lower body). Rasmussen leads the Red Wings forwards with 30 hits and has logged four points (two goals, two assists) across 16 games. Tyler Motte took his place in the lineup on Saturday. He will likely head back to the press box if Rasmussen is ready to return on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen has agreed to a four-year, $12.8 million extension with the club. Rasmussen is getting a nice pay rise as he completes a three-year, $4.38 million deal this season. The 24-year-old has skated in 55 games with the Red Wings in 2023-24, posting 11 goals and 12 assists. He's second on the team with a plus-11 rating and third with 92 hits. Rasmussen has spent the last couple of games on the first line, although he has been anonymous lately on offense and hasn't picked up any points in four straight outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen (knee) has officially come off Injured Reserve and is deemed good to go for the 2023-24 season. The 24-year-old had his 2022-23 campaign cut short by a knee injury in February. He was enjoying a fine year before the injury happened, posting 10 goals and 29 points in 56 appearances. Rasmussen is sitting on 86 points (36 goals, 50 assists) in 238 games for his whole career. With J.T. Compher joining the squad, Rasmussen will face extra competition for playing time at center, and it will be tricky for him to maintain his scoring rate from last season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen (knee) is likely finished for the 2022-23 campaign, according to head coach Derek Lalonde. He took a shot off his kneecap last weekend against Tampa Bay and has already missed two games because of the injury. The 23-year-old has been enjoying a decent campaign with 10 goals and 29 points in 56 games. With Rasmussen out of commission, Joe Veleno should see more action for the rest of the way, while Tyler Bertuzzi's move to Boston also opens up some minutes for other Red Wings forwards.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
