Michael Pineda Wins Fourth Straight Start
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda was victorious for the fourth straight time Thursday against the Blue Jays. Pineda pitched five innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while walking one. He struck out only two batters. The veteran right-hander has been phenomenal in September, posting a 1.93 ERA over 18 2/3 innings. The key for Pineda has been keeping the ball on the ground, as evidenced by his 41.3 percent groundball rate in September. Still, the low strikeout rate should give fantasy managers pause when turning to him, though a favorable matchup against the Tigers eases those concerns a bit.
