Michael Pineda Wins Fifth Straight Start
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda earned his fifth straight win Wednesday against the Tigers. Pineda pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrendering one run on eight hits. The righty struck out five batters while issuing zero walks. Pineda had his stuff working well, as he picked up at least two whiffs on all three offerings for a total of nine swinging strikes. He has recorded a perfect 5-0 record and a 1.85 ERA in September- delivering a boost to fantasy managers in both categories. Pineda ended up being a decent, late-round value, as he pitched to a 9-8 record with a 3.62 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 109 1/3 innings.
