Michael Pineda To Start Rehab Game On Monday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda (elbow) is set to make a rehab start with the Gulf Coast League Twins on Monday. It will be his first start since undergoing Tommy John Surgery. The 29-year-old has been out more than a year but it seems he is on track for a late August-early September return to the majors. That said, Pineda is a career 4.05 ERA pitcher, having had a rocky three years with the New York Yankees after a stellar first year. He has shown flashes throughout his injury-shortened career, but it remains to be seen what kind of pitcher he will be for the Twins when he returns, or if he will even have a rotation spot at all.
