Michael Pineda Throws Two Innings On Saturday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Pineda threw two innings and over 30 pitches in a practice session on Saturday, according to Evan Woodbery of MLive. In regards to the pitching session, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch stated, "He's right on track with what a first outing in spring training would be." Pineda had visa complications, which delayed his arrival to camp. He is now slated to throw a bullpen session, then head to Triple-A to continue working his pitch count up. Woodbery speculated that Pineda will make three Toledo starts and then join the Tigers rotation in late April. This would lead to Tyler Alexander making two starts with the Tigers before Pineda makes his Tigers debut.
