Michael Pineda Takes Loss Sunday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda was charged with his sixth loss of the season in Sunday's defeat at the hands of the Cardinals. Pineda went just four innings, surrendering three runs, two earned, on five hits while striking out three and walking one. The righty navigated two scoreless frames to open the outing before running into trouble in the third and fourth innings, needing 39 pitches to get through the final two. Pineda was coming off of two solid starts, so it was slightly disappointing that he couldn't keep up the trend, though he still owns a solid 3.89 ERA on the season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect that to remain steady, considering his career-worst marks in barrel rate, hard-hit rate, and strikeout rate.
