Michael Pineda Lands On Injured List With Tricep Tightness
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed starting pitcher Michael Pineda (tricep) on the 15-day injured list due to tricep tightness on Sunday. The injury flared up during his start against his former team, the Minnesota Twins, on Saturday and it caused him to exit after three innings. The Tigers called up right-handed reliever Angel De Jesus to fill Pineda's roster spot. Pineda earned the loss on Saturday, dropping his record to 2-6 on the year. He has a 5.27 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. The Tigers' rotation has been obliterated by injuries this year and it's unclear who will take Pineda's spot in the rotation at this point. His next turn in the rotation was scheduled for this coming Thursday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
