Michael McDowell Feels Good About Vegas But Is Very Risky DFS Pick
9 months agoThe speed of Michael McDowell and Front Row Motorsports as a whole has been a big topic early on in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, and it looks as though we will be continuing to talk about it for the time being. McDowell's No. 34 Ford was the 11th-fastest car during practice on Saturday afternoon and then he went out and qualified 12th for this weekend's Pennzoil 400, the best starting position for him in the five races at Las Vegas in the Next Gen car. With that being said, McDowell has yet to finish better than 17th at this track in the four NextGen races. This No. 34 Ford struggled a bit with race speed at the low-wear 1.5-mile tracks last season, but there's no reason to think McDowell can't challenge for a mid-teens finish this weekend--which is where he wound up at both Texas and here at Las Vegas in the Playoff races last season. At $7,200 on DraftKings, McDowell is a very risky DFS play with limited upside. Your exposure should be extremely limited as well.
