Michael McDowell Could Get Back-to-Back Wins at Watkins Glen
1 year agoWe have seen two instances of back-to-back winners in the NASCAR Cup Series this season. The first was William Byron, who won at Las Vegas and then Phoenix back in March, and the second was Chris Buescher, who won at Richmond and then Michigan over the last month. Now it could be Michael McDowell's turn. Last week at the Indy Road Course, McDowell put on a clinic, leading 54 of the 82 laps en route to victory. And now this weekend, he looks to have a great No. 34 Ford race car to work with again. In practice on Saturday, McDowell was 3rd-fastest on the ten-lap average chart, and then he went out and qualified in 3rd-place for Sunday's Go Bowling at The Glen as well. Michael McDowell has firmly established himself as one of the best road course racers in the Cup Series currently, and he's definitely going to be able to contend for the win on Sunday.
