Michael Mayer Looking To Get More Involved
1 year agoLas Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer was trending upwards following his Week 5 performance against the New England Patriots. The rookie tight end tallied five catches on six targets for 75 yards against the Patriots, but his performances have gone downhill. Mayer has five catches for 43 yards in his last three games combined and has been held without a touchdown all season. Mayer has yet to have the opportunity to show his worth in the revamped Raiders offense because the first contest after their coaching changes resulted in a blowout win. The rookie will likely have the chance to prove his value in a closer matchup against the New York Jets this week. The Jets have a strong secondary, but Mayer may be able to produce in the short to intermediate areas of the field in this matchup. Fantasy managers should not start him this week, but stashing Mayer could be a good idea for the rest of the season.
