Michael Lorenzen, Tejay Antone Should Be Ready For Opening Day
4 years agoCincinnati Reds pitchers Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) and Tejay Antone (hip) are believed to have avoided significant injury and should be ready for the start of the season, reports Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Lorenzen exited the Reds' "B" game on Saturday with a slight shoulder strain, while Antone left a bullpen session early with irritation of his hip flexor. Reds general manager Nick Krall said that they're, "hopeful that both will start the season on time, but we're still monitoring the situation." Lorenzen recorded a 4.28 ERA with a 23.8 percent strikeout rate in 33 2/3 innings last year, while Antone posted a 2.80 ERA and 31.9 percent strikeout rate in 35 1/3 innings.
