Michael Lorenzen Picks Up Save On Sunday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Michael Lorenzen threw a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Sunday. Lorenzen worked around a two-out walk to get Lewis Brinson to ground out to end the game, earning his second save in as many days. The closer role in the Cincy bullpen has been tricky to figure out of late. Just when it appeared that Mychal Givens had emerged as the preferred option for save chances in August, Lorenzen has overshadowed him over the past two days. Lorenzen has now thrown 13 1/3 scoreless innings with a 0.98 WHIP and 12 strikeouts on the year. Fantasy gamers hunting for saves can consider adding him in leagues.
