Michael Kopech Has Fluid Drained, Could Start Sunday
2 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (knee) had fluid drained from his knee on Monday. According to White Sox manager Tony La Russa, it remains a possibility that Kopech could start Sunday's game against the Houston Astros. If not, Lance Lynn would likely be the team's starter. Kopech was removed in the first inning of his start against the Texas Rangers on Sunday after initially injuring his knee. He underwent an MRI on Sunday that showed no structural damage. The 26-year-old has been one of the team's better arms through the first half of the 2022 season. He's pitched to a 1.92 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP over 11 starts, compiling a 2-2 record along the way.
