Michael Kopech Has "Chance" Of Major League Debut In 2018
6 years agoChicago White Sox pitching prospect Michael Kopech received a big vote of confidence on Thursday. The team’s player development director Chris Getz said, “We have a chance to see him [in Chicago in 2018]. He’s going to find his way to [the] big leagues. I'm very confident he's going to be a frontline-type starter.” Getz mentioned Kopech’s command of his fastball as a key to his progression. Kopech has struggled with his control this season. He walked four in his most recent game but struck out six. All in all, dynasty owners waiting for Kopech to make the leap have to be pleased with this recent news. If his control issues get better, the highly-touted prospect might be entering the relevant fantasy radar sooner rather than later.
