Michael Kopech Blows Up On Wednesday
6 years agoChicago White Sox rookie starter Michael Kopech was pitching fine until the fourth inning of Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. In that inning, Kopech allowed six hits, three home runs, and six runs before being yanked. He finished with a line of 3 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, with one walk and six strikeouts. Kopech has started his Major League career on a high note, but simply struggled with command on Wednesday. The disastrous inning put his season ERA up to 5.02, even though he only allowed one run in his 11 innings prior to this game. He has a great matchup against the Kansas City Royals next Tuesday and should be started with moderate confidence.
