Michael King Earns Fourth Save Of Season Tuesday
1 year agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Michael King earned his fourth save of the season in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Mets. King came on to pitch the ninth inning up by one and shut the door with a 1-2-3 inning and a strikeout. King has seen more use in high-leverage situations this season alongside Clay Holmes, who got the Yankees out of an eighth-inning jam in Tuesday's game. King has pitched well overall, converting four of six save opportunities with a 2.19 ERA in 37 innings pitched. While Holmes came into the season as the team's primary closer, it does appear that King may see a number of save opportunities himself, making him worth a roster spot in at least all roto leagues at this time.
