Michael King Converts Thursday's Save Opportunity
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Michael King got the save opportunity in Thursday's game against the Texas Rangers. He pitched the last 2.1 innings of the contest, allowing no runs or hits while striking out two and walking one to preserve the 4-2 lead, picking up his first save of the season. King has been a trustworthy arm thus far in the Yankees pen, posting a 1.72 ERA, 26.2% strikeout rate, 1.15 WHIP, and one hold across 15.2 innings. Clay Holmes, who owns a 3.72 ERA himself, is the club's closer, so fantasy owners can't expect the 27-year-old to earn many more saves. But King's probably a great asset in hold leagues for the remainder of the season.
