Michael King Charged With Third Loss
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Michael King was saddled with his third loss of the season in Friday's 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Boston Red Sox. King pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits with no walks issued. He struck out five batters and generated an impressive 38 percent CSW, called strikes plus whiffs. King allowed a three-run homer in the first inning but didn't surrender another run until the sixth frame, as he pitched better than the final box score says he did. King has pitched to a 3.62 ERA with a 25:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 27 1/3 innings. He should remain in line for some starts so long as Corey Kluber (shoulder) is sidelined.
