Michael King Built Up For 85-90 Pitches For Thursday's Outing
1 year agoNew York Yankees right-hander Michael King is built up to go around 85 to 90 pitches in his start on Thursday against the division-rival Boston Red Sox, according to pitching coach Matt Blake. King's last four appearances have been starts and he went 79 pitches in his last outing while striking out nine in five innings of work against the first-place Milwaukee Brewers. Of his 45 appearances for the Yankees this year, he's only made five starts, but he's been great in those five starts. In 18 2/3 innings over his five starts, King has a 1.93 ERA on six runs (four earned) and 17 hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out 24. The 28-year-old also has six saves and a 2.82 ERA and 1.13 WHIP on the year, making him a fine streaming option in fantasy against Boston to close out the series.
