Michael Kim In Good Form Heading To Mexico
1 year agoMichael Kim has made seven of his last eight cuts leading into the Mexico Open. He has not lost strokes on approach in a measured start during that stretch. He marks third in the field over the past 24 rounds in par four scoring between 450-500 yards, a range which seven of the nine par four's this week fall into. While Kim may not have win equity, he seems to have a pretty high floor.

Michael Kim Looks To Rebound At Valspar Championship
2 weeks agoAfter a run of great form over the last several events, it was surprising to see Michael Kim miss the cut at The Players this past week. The 31-year-old got off to a rough start on Thursday, carding a three-over-par, 75. That is really all it takes to find yourself on the outside looking in at TPC Sawgrass, and by the end of Friday, he was still averaging positive metrics on approach and around the green. Losing -1.02 strokes off the tee is what did him in. Regarding the Copperhead Course, Kim has had a long and frustrating history around this property. In seven career starts, he's only recorded one top-40 finish along with four missed cuts. However, to say his game has perhaps been in a much better place than ever before would be an understatement. He's the ninth-ranked player on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained tee to green (+1.271). When it comes to confidence in playing him in DFS lineups, he'll need to show more damning evidence before feeling the need to jump ship.

Michael Kim Continues Incredible Form Ahead Of The PLAYERS Championship
3 weeks agoAfter finishing fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Michael Kim has now posted five straight finishes of T13 or better. He looks to keep the momentum going at The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has played in four times but has missed the cut in three of those appearances. To carry his recent success to TPC Sawgrass, he will need to be accurate off the tee and solid on approach. Kim is currently ranked 93rd in driving accuracy, 36th in strokes gained off the tee (0.374 per round), and fifth in strokes gained from tee to green (1.373 per round). He is also 20th in strokes gained on approach (0.537 per round) and ranks in the 68th percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots here last year. Given his strong play this season, it's easy to forgive his past struggles at this event, and fantasy managers should continue to include him in their DFS lineups until the wheels fall off —especially at his $5,900 price tag on DraftKings.

Michael Kim One Of The Hottest Players In Golf Heading To Bay Hill
4 weeks agoThere aren't many players making the start this week who're playing as well as Michael Kim. The 31-year-old has continuously been in contention in his last four starts, gaining over 12 strokes on approach and over 10 strokes around the greens during that span. That has propelled him to a seventh-place ranking on the season in strokes gained tee to green (+1.228). If that trend continues, there are very few places on Tour where he won't find success. Everything is clicking right now, and until the train loses momentum, there is no reason to get off.

Michael Kim Looks To Keep Strong Play Going In Florida
1 month agoThe run of good golf continues for Michael Kim, as the 31-year-old finished T13 in Mexico for his third-straight top-15 finish. The week at Vidanta Vallarta was impressive for him in the long iron department, which has been the lone fault in his approach game this season. The length of the course may be the cause of the -0.03 strokes lost off the tee and the more subdued +0.29 strokes gained on approach metrics as well. While PGA National is not as strenuous in length, it makes up for twice over in the need for accuracy. Expect Kim to put up another solid performance.
