The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-hander Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday and placed right-hander Shelby Miller (neck) on the injured list in a corresponding move due to neck pain. Grove will make the start on Wednesday against the crosstown Los Angeles Angels. Not many fantasy managers will be brave enough to stream the 26-year-old after he's posted an 8.10 ERA (5.75 FIP), 1.60 WHIP, nine walks and 30 strikeouts in 30 innings over seven big-league outings (six starts) in 2023. Grove has been much better in two starts for Oklahoma City, allowing just two runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning 14 in 10 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Michael Grove (shoulder) will not be ready for Opening Day on March 18 in Tokyo, Japan, against the Chicago Cubs, according to manager Dave Roberts. It's not much of a surprise, as Grove was around a month behind scheduled in the offseason after he finished the 2024 campaign with a right-shoulder injury. The 28-year-old made a career-high 39 appearances (two starts) for the Blue last year and held a 5.12 ERA (3.87 FIP) and 1.22 WHIP with 54 strikeouts and 16 walks in 51 inning pitched. Grove was a bit unlucky in his relief role and showed much better velocity out of the bullpen. Because he won't be ready for the start of the regular season because of his shoulder injury, it's most likely that the Dodgers will leave him in a relief role in 2025 when he returns, which makes him one to avoid in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Dodgers removed right-hander Michael Grove (shoulder) from the National League Division Series roster on Tuesday due a shoulder injury and replaced him on the roster with right-hander Ben Casparius. If the Dodgers advance past the division-rival San Diego Padres and to the NL Championship Series, Grove would be ineligible to pitch. Grove went 4-4 during the regular season with a 5.12 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, 54 strikeouts and 16 walks in 51 innings over 39 appearances (only two starts) in his third year in the big leagues. He came in with the Dodgers trailing on Sunday in Game 2 against SD and allowed a home run and struck out a batter in just one-third of an inning. Casparius made his big-league debut in 2024 and appeared in three games out of the bullpen, allowing three runs (two earned) while walking four and striking out 12 in 8 1/3 innings pitched.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Michael Grove was named to the NLDS roster, while right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly (shoulder) was left off as he suffered a shoulder injury during a simulated game earlier this week. Grove has typically been deployed out of the bullpen this summer and has logged just two starts. Across 51 frames, Grove held a 5.12 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP, with a 16:54 BB:K ratio. Grove could be deployed in long relief or even in a spot start during the series. Joe Kelly operated exclusively out of the bullpen this season and posted a 4.78 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. Kelly was typically given set-up duties during the 2024 campaign but battled a shoulder injury late into the season. As a result, DFS players should expect Evan Phillips, Michael Kopech, and Alex Vesia to be called upon in high-leverage situations during their tilt against the San Diego Padres.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove will start on Saturday against the San Diego Padres. The 26-year-old will likely just serve as an opener in this one and then give way to the recently-acquired Ryan Yarbrough who will work as the bulk reliever. Grove doesn't carry much fantasy appeal with his limited role and his poor rate stats. He owns a 6.75 ERA, 1.580 WHIP, and 63:18 K/BB ratio over 62 2/3 innings (11 starts, 14 appearances).--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
