Michael Fulmer Records Two-Inning Save On Thursday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Michael Fulmer closed out the team's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday to earn his seventh save of the year. It was a two-inning save as he pitched both the eighth and ninth innings, allowing two hits, no walks and no runs without recording any strikeouts. The team's primary closer Gregory Soto had pitched in back-to-back games before this one, so he was unavailable. Fulmer has had a solid year out of the pen, pitching to a 3.40 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. He's next in line for saves for the Tigers if Soto falters.
