Michael Fulmer Records Third Save On Monday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Michael Fulmer closed out the team's 4-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday to earn his third save of the year. He allowed one hit, no walks and no runs in the ninth while recording one strikeout. All three of Fulmer's saves have come in May and he's now recorded three of the Tigers' past four saves. Gregory Soto, who had been the team's primary closer for the first month of the year, closed out the eighth inning, retiring just one batter after Casey Mize went 7 2/3 innings. It's hard to say for sure what the ninth inning will look like for the Tigers going forward, but Fulmer is very clearly in the picture. In leagues where saves are highly-coveted, he is a great reliever to target. Just keep in mind that the 15-26 Tigers likely won't provide ample save opportunities.
