Michael Fulmer Playing Catch
1 year agoChicago Cubs right-hander Michael Fulmer (forearm) has been playing catch recently and could throw a light mound session on Wednesday, according to MLB.com. The 30-year-old was placed on the injured list on August 26 after he felt discomfort in his right arm, which was eventually classified as a forearm strain. The hope is Fulmer can return to the Cubs by mid-September and continue to help anchor the bullpen. Across 56 1/3 innings of work, the former Rookie of the Year has pitched to a 4.47 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 27.0% strikeout rate, but he owns a 2.62 ERA since June 1. Fantasy managers should expect Fulmer to continue to add to his 11 holds once he's back.
