Michael Fulmer Pain-Free
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer (knee) has full pain-free range of motion in his surgically repaired right knee, according to general manager Al Avila. The pitcher is currently doing rehab work at the team's spring training facilities in Florida and expects to be ready for spring training, although he has another checkup with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday. Fulmer had a torn meniscus that also required a procedure similar to microfracture surgery. He's rehabbing well, but the knee will remain a concern, especially since Fulmer admitted he'll need to change his mechanics to avoid further knee issues in his career. The right-hander has yet to reach the 30-start mark in his three years in the big leagues and doesn't strike out many (7.0 career K/9), so his fantasy ceiling isn't all that high. He won't be a coveted fantasy arm in shallow mixed leagues coming off his knee procedure.
