Michael Fulmer Has Surgery, Expected To Miss 2024 Season
1 year agoChicago Cubs right-hander Michael Fulmer (elbow) underwent right-elbow UCL revision surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss the entire 2024 season as a result. Fulmer is scheduled to be a free agent after the World Series, so he may have to wait a while before signing with a team once he proves he's on track in his rehab. The 30-year-old reliever and former American League Rookie of the Year with the Detroit Tigers in 2016 went 3-5 with a 4.42 ERA (4.15 FIP), 1.33 WHIP, two saves, 28 walks and 65 strikeouts in 57 innings over 58 appearances (one start) in his first year for the Cubs in 2023.
