Michael Fulmer Earns His Eighth Save On Tuesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Michael Fulmer closed out the team's 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday to earn his eighth save of the year. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed one hit, no walks and no runs while striking out one. Gregory Soto, the team's primary closer, hadn't pitched since Sunday, so he should have been available for this game, but Tigers manager A.J. Hinch opted to go with Fulmer instead. Soto leads the team with 15 saves on the year and should still be considered the team's primary closer, but Fulmer could continue to earn a few saves here and there.
