Michael Fulmer Activated From Injured List Monday, Earns Save
1 year agoChicago Cubs relief pitcher Michael Fulmer (forearm) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday after recovering from a right forearm strain and earned his second save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Rockies. Fulmer came on to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by one with one out and the bases empty. He allowed a walk and hit a batter before getting the second and third outs on strikeouts. The Cubs put closer Adbert Alzolay (forearm) on the 15-day IL Monday with a right forearm strain and Fulmer has closed previously in his career, so it appears that he may get the first shot in the interim. He owns a 4.42 ERA with a 10.26 K/9 rate and a 4.42 BB/9 rate in 57 innings pitched. Fulmer is now worth a look in deeper roto leagues to finish out the season.
